THE PROVINCE WILL NOT STAND UP FOR ITS POLICIES
We tried. Mayor Miller asked. The Film Board asked. Over 4500 residents, Film Workers and concerned Torontonians asked. The answer is No, the Province will not make a declaration of Provincial Interest in the Smart!Centres OMB hearing.

THE RALLY WAS
A GREAT SUCCESS
Over 300 neighbours came out to voice their concern. We had representation from all levels of local Government and many local Residents like Rick Smith from The Environmental Defence, Luba Goy Canada's premier Political Satirist and Ed Foster owner and operator of
Pro Glo Paints.

WE WON THE MOTION
FOR CONSOLIDATION
The OMB will consolidate the appeals of 629 and 633 Eastern Avenue (PL0501314) with the appeals to the City of Toronto Official Plan Amendment No.5 (PL061112) and the appeals from the City of Toronto Secondary Plan for the South of Eastern Employment District. What this means is the hearing is no longer site-specific and the OMB will look at a larger community context.

COMMUNITY VISION SURVEY
This brief survey is designed
to help the City Planning Department and the Ontario Municipal Board understand what the community would like to see for the lands south of Eastern Avenue

Welcome to the East Toronto Community Coalition website. We are a Not-For-Profit group, committed to promoting community initiatives that support and maintain the unique historical, cultural and economic character of the waterfront communities east of the Don River. We encourage change – when based on smart planning principles, transparency, equity, safety and a healthy, clean environment.

Currently, we are engaged in a battle to stop a 700,000sq. ft., 1900 parking spot, BIG BOX retail development that will undermine the integrity of our community on various levels. The City has said NO, the community has said NO, now it's in the hands of the OMB
